Electronics Co. said Thursday it has started selling a new dual-load washing machine, which offers "consumers more choices to do laundry the way they want."
The "FlexWash" washer, which is Wi-Fi-enabled and can be controlled by a smartphone app, was unveiled earlier this year at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Equipped with five cubic feet of capacity, the washer's front-loader can handle normal or bulky loads.
Its top-loader adds another cubic foot of capacity and is built to wash smaller loads separately from the main load, Samsung said in a statement.
The company said the washer provides "the most advanced, flexible laundry solution to meet the needs of busy modern families."
Seo Byung-sam, head of Samsung's home appliance unit, said in a statement that the company will continue to make efforts to lead the global white goods industry.
Prices of the washer were set at between 2.29 million won (US$1,981.80) and 2.69 million won, depending on its load capacity.
