Celebrating its eighth anniversary, the 10-day fest will be hosted alongside COEX C-Festival and will carry nationwide craft beers from small breweries. A selection of international cuisine including ham, paella, nachos, sausages, hot dogs and chicken that pair well with beer will also be available.
Some 27 local breweries and beer importers will present over 170 craft beers. Special events include learning fun facts about beer at “Meet the Brewer” sessions and lectures on beer.
The Great Korean Beer Festival was the first to introduce the “Meet the Brewers” event in Korea and it soon became the festival's unique feature.
This year, many brewers will join the action to share stories about their beers. Visitors have a chance to tap into beer basics and learn how to best sample a beer.
Launched in 2013, the event is the first and the largest craft beer festival in Korea. In May 2016, around 220,000 visitors enjoyed the fest at the same venue.
Organizers expect 300.000 visitors during this year's festival. It will be held at the COEX outdoor area, G20 Plaza and SM Town Plaza. Booths are open from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. There is no entrance fee. Visitors can freely purchase beers and foods of their choice at each stand.
Beer sampler tickets let visitors try out smaller portions of various beers. A limited number of tickets are sold each day. To get there, leave exit 5 or 6 of Samseong Station on Line 2.
